Can giving a dog steroids (Prednizone) harm the puppies if she's pregnant?

My dog is going blind, but the good news is it may be treatable. The ophthalmologist prescribed prednizone to try to break down her immune systems since she thinks it's attacking my dog's optic nerve. The thing is, she's probably pregnant and the doc's specialty is eyes so she wasn't sure what it affect it might have on the pups. She gave her a low dosage just in case, but are the puppies going to come out as angry bouncers?
