Is it common for contemorary apprentice chefs to attempt to yell at you to put on a hat as you are leaving?

the kitchen for the day? The fellow always has red eyes like he is either drunk or hungover. He has a tattoo on his hand, but I have tattoos on my forearm, and so does he. I just laughed it off and said no. But is it common for fellers to yell at other contemporary apprentice chefs while in cl? How should the situation be dealt with, not using violence or profanity? I'm not mad, I just think of him as a twerp. I tend to instantly lose all sense of respect for someone when they yell at me, at least when they are not signing my pay check. But I don't ever want to fight, argue, cuss or compromise my education.
