Why do conservatives exist?

Humanity is always moving forward, so why aren't they along? And why are they always the party that uses badmouthing, blackmailing, bias, misinformation, political incorrectedness, and rudeness and everything else prejudicial in everything they write. FYI, if a conservative answers, I will not penalize him-her as long as nothing inappropriate is said. This a discussion, not a rant.
