1988 Volvo 240 5 spd wagon. Is this a dependable car?

I don't know a lot about Volvos, but I'd like to know if this particular model is a dependable one. It has 133,000 miles and the guy is selling it for $950. I don't have any other info on it just yet, but generally speaking, are these good cars?
