How long til the new puppy and old dog find common ground?

this is perfectly normal,, alot of older dogs do not have the patience for puppy"s,, u figure if an 80 yr old woman or man would have the patience to run around and play and chase a 1yr old everyday,, well thats the case for ur bichon,, but as long as it does'nt get too rough or aggressive,, the normal pecking order of dogs is as follows: female dogs naturally dominate males,, (sorry) and also ur bichon is naturally gonna break in ur schauzer and show him his place in the pack. the thing is to recognize what play is and what is agression ur dog may nip at the pup to put the pup in his place and let him know enough is enough,, that is what dogs do,,but again alot of times we as humans think something is agressive when it is fun or play for dogs good luck think u will be fine
